The Bespoke Classroom
Education is a driving passion of mine; I’ve worked in this field throughout my life, since well before I became a parent myself. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in English and Secondary Education Certificate while working at a private reading clinic. While I was there, I focused on creating specific, goal-oriented, concrete learning plans for students ages 5 to 18.
After college, my first career steps began in Europe, where I worked on a private client basis in Europe. In the 25 years since then, I’ve been working with a variety of private clients and their children, and became TEFL certified while working with private students from around the world.
It’s been through this work with private clients that I’ve developed the methodology to evaluate a family and its children’s needs to devise custom, innovative, and highly effective educational programs for each specific child.
In working with clients from around the world, I’ve gained significant understanding regarding cultural differences. I’ve worked with clients from several countries, including Mexico, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, India, China, and Japan. English Language Learning students have their own unique needs; I have extensive experience meeting these needs.
As a pragmatist, I know that every family has different needs, different strengths, and different goals. Expecting to fit everyone into one box is completely antithetical to my experience and methodology. Finding and implementing the strategies that work best is always the ultimate goal.
