SESSIONS
One hour in-person sessions with Kim J and student, including lessons, curated reading book materials, optional homework supervision, and specialized focus on challenging areas, can be scheduled daily or once, twice or three times weekly.
MATERIALS
Weekly curated enrichment resources on a variety of subjects, along with a student journal and custom content developed around your own personal goals while working with Elite ELL. By identifying your personal goals and incorporating them into the curriculum, your progress rate is higher and more effective than with generic training.
ASSESSMENTS
For our professional students, we offer level certifications based on your progress and the successful completion of evaluative testing provided as part of your program. Certification can be a valuable tool when applying for new career postions as well as being a tangible confirmation of your progress and new capabilities.

Virtual learning has enveloped the global educational environment almost overnight, forcing us all into a new world of virtual work, school and recreation. Being experienced in virtual teaching and the methodology behind engaging students from around the world in online learning has been a huge advantage for me as a teacher and as a consultant to adult students struggling with the new reality of online life. Bringing balance to a student’s approach to the online world, helping students to engage and to disengage as needed, and assisting new English speakers to participate without reservation in their own educations has been a privilege, and a responsibility that I cherish.

What's the minimum class duration?
In general, students are best served by classes that are one hour long, at least twice a week, but can be extended up to 90 minutes per lesson for more advanced students. Generally, I do not recommend longer lessons for those with less prior knowledge of English.
Is there a minimum number of classes?
In general, students are best served by classes that are one hour long, at least twice a week. Greater frequency is certainly an option.In order to see improvement, a minimum of four weeks of classes is required.
How are classes provided?
Classes are provided via online platform; a reliable internet connection on the student’s end is required. Most students use Zoom, but other platforms are also available.
How do I pay for classes?
Once we have had our initial consultation and set up the schedule, I will send an invoice for the classes, which can be paid with a debit or credit card. A week before the classes are set to conclude, I will send an email, detailing what the student has worked on. At that point, the contract can be extended as desired.
What about cancellations?
Sometimes life gets in the way of our plans, and classes have to be cancelled. If a class is cancelled at least 24 hours in advance, there is no penalty, and the class will be rescheduled. If the class is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, the class time is forfeit.
What are your methods?
Every student has different needs and different strengths. I always focus on a specific person, so I don’t have a set curriculum. I do focus on reading and writing, especially for English Language learners. I may use games to teach skills, and facilitate communication as much as possible, sometimes with group interactions. Students will always be able to view what we’ve been working on, and I’m happy to explain my methods and listen to concerns and suggestions.
What are your policies on refunds and reschedules?
If you cancel a class more than 24 hours in advance, the class will be rescheduled, as availability permits, with no fines or fees. If you cancel a class less than 24 hours from the start time of the class, the time is forfeit.
If you want to take more than one class off during the scheduled sessions (for instance, summer camp or a vacation), please let me know at least 1 week in advance. The missed sessions will be added to the end of the contract period. Rescheduling may be necessary.
If you are going to be late for a class, email me to let me know, and I will happily wait, although the class length will not be extended past the original ending time. If I don’t hear from you that you will be late, I will wait for 15 minutes before leaving, and the time will be forfeit.
In the event that I have to be late for the start of class, I will notify you as soon as possible and your class time will be extended or rescheduled according to availability and your convenience. You will not lose any time from your contracted hours.
