Where did the cows find a typewriter? How did they learn to type?

These questions never get answered, but it doesn’t make any difference in this irreverent and slyly funny book. The cows (and eventually the hens) have decided that they deserve better conditions, and let Farmer Brown know. The frustrated farmer holds out for as long as he can, but eventually concedes to the cows’ demands, believing that he will have peace at last. The ending doesn’t turn out quite as he expects, though.

Click, Clack Moo: Cows That Type is a 2001 Caldecott Honor book, and is one of the “Top 100 Picture Books” of all time in a 2012 poll by School Library Journal.
